Character Creation
Create characters who are ready to adventure, cooperate, and engage with the campaign premise.
Ability Scores
Section titled “Ability Scores”Use Standard Array or Point Buy unless the campaign primer says otherwise.
Sources
Section titled “Sources”Use official sourcebooks unless the GM approves additional material.
If a feature, race, subclass, spell, or background comes from unofficial content, ask before building around it.
Character Sheets
Section titled “Character Sheets”Create characters on D&D Beyond.
Your D&D Beyond sheet should be complete before the first session where the character appears.
Party Compatibility
Section titled “Party Compatibility”Build a character who is willing to adventure and work with a group.
Characters can be conflicted, secretive, reluctant, or complicated, but they should still be playable at a shared table.
Character Questions
Section titled “Character Questions”Use these prompts to give your character clear motivations:
- What does your character want?
- What are they afraid of?
- What are they protecting?
- Why are they adventuring?
- Why would they work with a group?
